I’m a sixth grader and I’m dreading the up coming DSTPs. I always get threes and I once got a four in math, but last year I got a two in writing. My parents say that if I don’t pass this year they’re going to take away my cell phone and other privileges. What can I do to pass?

Dear I-can't-live-without-my-cell,

Its hard to say what you can do because its hard to prepare or study for DSTP's. Its a test where you never really know what they are going to ask. There are a few things you can do such as practice your writing. Try finding writing prompts online. There are some great websites out there that you can use. Once you are done writing one of the peices you can have a family member or teacher to read them. See what they think and then keep trying until everyone thinks the writing is as good as it can be.
Even more you can do for DSTP's is pay close attention in english. I know it can sometimes be hard, but it will really help you if you know what's going on in class. Your teacher will really help you with telling you how to incoporate specific and revelant details. It will also help your writing to stand out and look polished.
DSTP's can be very stressful, just remember that they are not the end of the world and you will always get your cell phone back sooner or later. Don't forget you won't get the test results until around June. All you need to remember is try your hardest and have a big breakfast the morning of the test.

So many clothes

Everyone was wondering what Michelle Obama was going to wear to the inaugural ball. There are so many dresses and designers, but there’s only one first lady.
Barack, of course, wore a tux. It was a J. Crew white satin bowtie with a classic tuxedo. His bowtie was 100% Italian silk satin. Joe Biden also wore a tuxedo, but with a black bowtie.
Michelle wore a white gown designed by Jason Wu. The full-skirted goddess dress had a sparkly beading and a one shoulder strap. The Wall Street Journal said that the dress sells for $3000-$6000. She also wore a Wu dress for an interview with Barbara Walters last November.
Jill Biden wore a scarlet, silk ciffon strapless gown for the inaugural ball. It was made by Reem Acra.
